The EUWI+ project complies with the European Union policy on user privacy and in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679).

Although you can browse through most of the current website without giving any information about yourself, in some cases, personal information is required. Such information will be treated according to the policy described below, focusing mainly on providing interactive communication services and possibilities for a registered user to contribute to the project.

The present Privacy Policy provides further details on the type of personal information collected by EUWI+ as part of its activities, their conditions of use, sharing and protection, and your rights.

 

Purpose of data processing

The information collected on the various online media of the euwipluseast.eu website is recorded in computer files by the International Office for Water (IOWater), coordinator of the EUWI+ project, in order to:

  • Provide you with products or services that you buy, subscribe to, or wish to participate in: subscription, training courses, events, etc.
  • Respond to any request.
  • Exclusively inform you about upcoming events, news, latest products and services, and other different offers about EUWI+ activities, in accordance with your communication preferences.
  • Improve EUWI+ websites and exploit in-house anonymous statistics (audience measurement service).

EUWI+ collects personal data from you when at least one of the following conditions is met:

  • You have given your consent.
  • This personal data is required to provide a service or execute a contract or agreement concluded with you.
  • The processing is based on EUWI+ legitimate interest and does not affect your fundamental rights and freedoms.

EUWI+ collects personal information when:

  • You use the services provided by its websites.
  • You subscribe to its newsletters and other communications in digital or paper format.
  • You register on and/or participate in one of its training courses, webinars, or other events.
  • You are associated with or collaborate in a project led by EUWI+.

EUWI+ only collects personal data for the purpose of its activities.

EUWI+ does not sell, trade nor transfer your identifiable personal data to third parties. If this possibility were to arise, you would be informed before the collection of these data and your consent would be sought. You would have the opportunity to oppose this data collection.

This principle does not include the trusted third parties that help EUWI+ operate some of its processing. If necessary, EUWI+ shall ensure that these third parties agree to keep these data confidential and process them in accordance with the rules in force.

Anonymised data (number of participants in projects, workshops, events, possibly sorted by gender; visits to the project's website and Facebook pages) are transmitted in the reports to the European Commission.



Data processed

The various data processed are those entered by individuals wishing to benefit from one of our services.


The collected data may be:

  • Your family name and first names.
  • Your contact details (email, phone number).
  • Your professional information (position, organisation).
  • Any other personal information you provide to EUWI+.

This data will be collected with your prior consent, within the framework of the contractual relationship, for the purposes of the legitimate interests of the data controller or in accordance with a legal obligation.

Through its websites, EUWI+ automatically receives and records anonymous data from your computer and browser, such as your web browser and the type of equipment you use. These data are collected in order to allow you to access the website’s features and for statistical purposes.


Data recipient

The personal data collected are communicated by the International Office for Water (IOW) to the web management team and the other project partners, i.e. the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), and the Environment Agency Austria (Austria).

Anonymised data (number of participants in projects, workshops, events, possibly sorted by gender; visits to the project's website and Facebook pages) are also transmitted in the reports to the European Commission.


Data retention

EUWI+ undertakes to respect the storage period indicated in each collection medium.

The data collected will be stored for the duration of the project (2016-2020) and archived five years after the project ends (in case of European audit).


Rights on data concerning you

In accordance with the regulations in force, you have the right to oppose, access, rectify or delete data concerning you. These rights can be exercised by contacting the IOWater Data Protection Officer by electronic means at the following address: dpo@oieau.fr.

If, after contacting us, you consider that your rights over your personal data are not respected, you can file a complaint with a competent supervisory authority (for example, the CNIL in France).
